I watched The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch the other day and was truly inspired by guests - Chris Gardner (who's rags to riches story was the basis for the movie The Pursuit of Happyness) and John Paul DeJoria (co-founder of Paul Mitchell and Patron Tequila).
Both of these men were homeless before turning their passion into extremely successful business ventures. They each had a similar message about how they created such success in their lives. Chris Gardner talked about making 200 calls a day when he first started out as a stock broker. He said he was willing to do what other brokers didn't like to do - cold calls. He knew that each call was a way to dig out from the hole he was in. How cool is that! His story is very powerful and I can't wait to see the movie. DeJoria said that he and Paul Mitchell started the company with $700. He talked about how he took their product and hit the pavement and went from salon to salon trying to sell their product.
The take away message is that if you hold on to your dream and are willing to put in the effort, you can succeed! Success doesn't simply fall into our laps, we must be willing to do our part and that requires diligence and determination. It is important to hold the vision of what you want to create. Picture yourself enjoying the feelings of success and see yourself achieving your dreams. Make these images as vivid in your mind's eye as you can. See and experience it as if it was real right now... right here. This will help propel you forward and carry you through the difficult times. Your vision and dream can help motivate you to take action. If you feel lead to take an action... do it! Don't let fear or doubt get in your way. Take the steps you need to move forward toward you dream.
What steps can you take today to move you closer to your dream? Are you willing to let go of fear and doubt?
