This morning I was listening to a podcast from Brain Sync's Theatre of the Mind and Dr. Bruce Lipton (author of Biology of Belief) talked about quantum physics and the observer effect. The podcast got me thinking more about the idea that "reality" is influenced by observation. Then just a few minutes ago I was catching up on some blogs when I came across a post from Wendy Piersall that featured this video about the same quantum concept (thanks Wendy).
What a cool synchroncity! This prompted me to pull out my copy of The Field by Lynne McTaggart (I think this is THE best book about all things quantum). Here is what McTaggart wrote about this quantum concept:
...the consciousness of the observer brought the observed object into being. Nothing in the universe existed as an actual 'thing' independently of our perception of it. Every minute of every day we were creating our world.
I don't know about you, but I find that last statement extremely powerful. Let's just suppose for a minute that this is true... let's suppose that your thoughts influence your world. Would you do anything different? What are you creating in your life? Are you focusing on creating the life you want... or do you spend time complaining about the life you have?
Was it coincidence that I found Wendy's post today... or did I create this reality?
